Welcome to the Train to the Tower blog

Train to the tower
Darwen Tower aka the Jubilee Tower can be seen atop Darwen Moor in Lancashire. It was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. From the top, on a clear day, you can see the Welsh Mountains, the Isle of Man and the Lake District.A train from Darwen town centre could only be a great thing in my estimation, and I'll tell you why when I have a bit more time. Also to come: an animated version by Andy Rawsthorn.A history of the REight to Roam the Moors by local historian Lez Scott.
